DEAD END // CHAN CHUN-HAO
One Night. One Life. One Decision.
Lin Sheng-yi (played by Daniel Hong), a disgraced former professional baseball pitcher, hit rock bottom after a match-fixing scandal ruined his career. Returning to his hometown one night, he plans to make a fortune through a land acquisition scheme to turn his life around. However, he soon discovers the entire town is cloaked in an unspeakable, eerie atmosphere.
A clandestine underground organization masquerading as an “elderly mutual aid association” is secretly running a “death betting game,” using human lives as gambling chips. Sheng-yi’s own father has been assigned a bounty—a staggering 100 million dollars—with a deadline that expires at dawn. Assisted by his younger brother Sheng-bin (played by Ng Ki-pin) and his former flame Pin-wen (played by Yao Yi-ti), Sheng-yi inches closer to the truth, only to realize that every choice carries a devastating cost. As the clock ticks down, he is forced to make a harrowing ultimatum between greed, family devotion, and survival.
